Lighthouse Travel Guide United States

At the DeBary Hall Historic Site in Daytona Beach, Florida Bob Callister and John Mann narrated a free lighthouse travel guide United States, Canada and England. Callister is a programs manager of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse in Daytona Beach, which is a national historic landmark. Mann, a retired teacher, is a lighthouse volunteer and tour guide who is an expert on lighthouses after visiting more than 400 of them around the world.

He will be in Europe this summer on a mission to photograph French lighthouses. The travel guide presentation focused on the differences in design, construction materials, needs and purposes of various kinds of lighthouses. The two presenters also discussed stories of the lighthouse keepers and their families and recounted legends of heroic rescues at lighthouses around the country and around the world.
